gyōsho

(JP: 行書; PR: "gyo-shoh")
A semi-cursive style of writing kanji that dates from around 250 CE. Known in English as "running script."

This style and sōsho (草書) are often used together to create pieces of calligraphy, and the exact boundary between the two styles is hard to define precisely. Generally, lines in gyōsho are written with a distinct 1-2-3 rhythm (beginning-middle-end), whereas those in the sōsho style are written with a 1-2 rhythm (beginning-end).
