Hiragana & Katakana Flashcards

Instructions
  • First, choose a Set of flashcards from the drop-down list. I have divided the basic characters into three sets of roughly equal size (Sets I, II, & III). There is a fourth set of modified basic characters (Set IV). I recommend working through the sets in order.
  • Then, choose your Display mode:
    • in Hiragana and romaji, or
    • in Katakana and romaji, or
    • in Hiragana and katakana, or
    • in Katakana and hiragana.
  • Use the left and right arrows to navigate through the current set.
  • Click on the speaker icon to hear the Japanese.
  • Use the Auto-Play button in the centre to see and hear all the items in current Set.
  • There are notes below the flashcards.
  • Once you think you’re ready, scroll down and try the Listening and Spelling Quizzes.
